What Saley collects, how your call audio and text are processed on our systems, the categories of providers that help us run the service, and the rights you have over your data.
Effective July 20, 2026
The short version
Saley is a macOS desktop app that records your sales calls and turns them into speaker-separated transcripts, live in-call coaching, and a post-call review. To do that, your call audio and the text made from it are processed on our systems in the cloud — not only on your Mac.
This policy explains what we collect, how it is used and processed, the categories of outside providers that help us run the service, and the choices and rights you have. Recording a call usually involves other people, and getting any consent the law requires is your responsibility — see the recording section below.
Who we are
“Saley,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the provider of the Saley application and website. In this policy, “you” means the person or organization using Saley.
If you use Saley through an organization (for example, your employer), that organization decides what is recorded and why, and controls the resulting data. In that setting the organization is the data controller and we act as its processor — see Team and organization accounts.
Data we collect
We collect and store the following, to run the service:
Account details. The email address you sign up with, and basic authentication data used to keep your account secure.
Call recordings and everything derived from them. The audio we capture during a call, the speaker-separated transcript, the painpoints surfaced live, the AI-generated call notes, and the post-call feedback and scores.
Your Playbook. The selling context you set up — value props, pricing, ideal-customer profile, competitors, objection and response pairs, and call goals — which is used to make the coaching specific to your deals.
Prospect Briefs.Research about third-party people — such as a prospect’s name, role, company, and publicly reported news — compiled from public B2B and professional sources. See Prospect research about third parties.
Billing data. The subscription and payment information needed to charge your plan. Card details are handled by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers ourselves.
Diagnostics. Error and crash diagnostics and basic technical logs that help us keep the app working and fix problems.
Anonymous website download counts. When a person requests the Mac download, our website sets a random first-party browser identifier for one year and sends only a one-way hash of it to our systems. We do not send or store the browser’s IP address or user-agent with this event. The hash is retained briefly to count unique download browsers over a rolling 30-day period; request totals are stored as hourly aggregates. It does not tell us whether the app was installed.
How we use your data, and where it is processed
We use the data above to:
Record and transcribe your calls, separate the speakers, and produce the live coaching, notes, painpoints, and post-call scores.
Build Prospect Briefs from public professional sources so you can prepare for a call.
Run your account, take payment, and provide support.
Diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and keep the service reliable and secure.
Count anonymous download requests and estimate how many distinct browsers requested the download in the last 30 days.
Processing happens on our systems, in the cloud. To produce transcripts and insights, your audio and the text made from it are processed securely on our backend, off your machine — not only locally on your Mac. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your call content to advertise to you.
Third-party processors and international processing
We rely on a small number of outside providers to run the service. We describe them by category only:
A third-party speech-to-text provider, to help transcribe audio.
Third-party AI processing providers, to help generate transcripts, insights, notes, scores, and prospect research.
Cloud hosting and storage providers, to run and store the service.
An email delivery provider, to send account and service email.
A payment processor, to take subscription payments.
These providers act on our behalf and are permitted to use the data only to provide their service to us. Some of them — and therefore some processing and storage of your data — are located outside your country. By using Saley you understand that your data may be processed and stored in other countries whose data-protection laws differ from those where you live.
Call recording and your consent responsibility
Saley records both sides of a call: your microphone and your Mac’s system audio. Recording a call is, by nature, a two-party act — it involves the other people on the call as well as you.
Laws on call recording, wiretapping, and consent vary by state and country, and many require every participant to consent before a call is recorded. Saley includes an in-app consent acknowledgement and a visible recording indicator, but the legal duty to obtain any consent the law requires from everyone on the call is yours, not ours. Saley is a tool; you decide when to record and are responsible for doing so lawfully.
Prospect research about third parties
Prospect Briefs contain research about third-party individuals, such as a prospect’s name, professional role, company, and publicly reported news. We compile this only from publicB2B and professional sources — the kind of business information people publish about their professional lives. We do not seek out private or sensitive personal information for this purpose.
You can delete your Prospect Briefs in the app. If you are the subject of a brief and want it removed, or you want help deleting research, write to contact@saley.app.
Your rights and choices
You can ask us to give you access to, correct, delete, or export the personal data we hold about you. To make a request, email contact@saley.app. We may need to verify your identity before acting.
You can also delete your own calls (and their audio) and your Prospect Briefs directly in the app. If your data was recorded under an organization, we may need to route your request to that organization, which controls the data — see Team and organization accounts. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law; contact us and we will honor those that apply.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your account data while your account is active. Recordings, transcripts, notes, scores, Playbook, and Prospect Briefs are kept until you delete them or your account is closed. You can delete individual calls and Prospect Briefs yourself in the app at any time.
When you delete content or close your account, we remove it from our active systems. Residual copies may persist briefly in routine backups and then age out on a rolling basis. We may retain limited records where we are required to for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your data. Data is encrypted in transit using standard HTTPS/TLS, and we use access controls to limit who can reach stored data.
No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We do not claim any formal security certification. If you discover a vulnerability, please report it to contact@saley.app so we can address it.
Team and organization accounts
When Saley is used under an organization, the organization owns the data recorded under it. Team admins can see their agents’ calls, transcripts, and scores. In this arrangement the organization is the data controller— it decides what is recorded and why — and Saley acts as a processoron the organization’s behalf.
If you use Saley through your employer or another organization, your use may also be governed by that organization’s own policies, and data requests may be directed to it.
Children
Saley is a business tool intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to use it. Saley is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product and our practices change. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated by reasonable means. Continuing to use Saley after an update means you accept the revised policy.
