Saley vs Hero by Vivun
Hero and Saley both help a seller during a live sales call, and neither needs a bot. Hero costs less, starts free and connects to your CRM. Saley answers from your own Playbook, then scores the call and lists the follow-ups. This page compares what each advertises, including where Hero is the better fit.
Side by side
Saley vs Hero, row by row
The Hero column is what Hero advertises on its own pages. Both capture the call without a bot and both draft a follow-up email; the differences are what the live help is built on, what happens after the call, the devices, and the price.
| What you are comparing | Hero (advertised) | Saley |
|---|---|---|
| What the product is | An AI sales teammate. Hero is a product of Vivun. | A Mac coach for one seller during the sales call, then a scored review and follow-ups after it. |
| How the call is captured | Bot-less call transcription with the Hero desktop app, in Hero's words. | Bot-free as well: your microphone and your Mac's system audio as two separate channels. No bot joins the meeting. |
| During the call | Suggests what to say next when a prospect raises a competitor, a price or a technical question, with an agenda only you see that is crossed off as topics are covered. | Objection cards, painpoints and talk ratio appear on their own. Next question and Ask Saley answer when you ask, from your Playbook and files, with filename and page citations when retrieval finds them. |
| Context it draws on | Your CRM, past calls and research, plus connected productivity and sales tools. A pre-call account brief from CRM deal history and the web. | Your Playbook and uploaded files, a source-cited Prospect Brief framed for what you sell, and the live call. No CRM connection. |
| After the call | Notes, follow-up emails drafted in your voice, and CRM updates (Salesforce and HubSpot, read and writeback). | A 0–100 score across five dimensions with written reasons and BANT, call notes, follow-ups quoted from the call, and an email draft you copy. Saley never sends email and doesn't write to a CRM. |
| Practice | Hero plays the prospect and shows you where your answers are weak. | No simulated buyer. Run a practice call with a colleague and Saley coaches and scores it like any other call. |
| Devices | Start on your Mac or in the browser, per Hero's pricing FAQ. | macOS 13 (Ventura) or later only. There is no Windows, iPhone, or Android app. |
| Listed price | Individual is $20/month per seller, with live assistance unlimited on every plan. Team is listed as coming soon; Enterprise is custom. | Starter is $69/month for 20 hours of calls. Higher tiers are on the pricing page. |
| Trial | Free for the first 28 days. No card is needed to start, and nothing is charged until you add one. | None. No free tier and no trial; the card is charged at signup. |
Pick the one that matches the job
A lower price and CRM, or answers cited from your Playbook files
Choose Hero if price, CRM or a free start decides it
Hero is $20/month per seller after 28 free days, with live assistance unlimited on every plan. It advertises CRM read and writeback for Salesforce and HubSpot, use in the browser as well as on a Mac, and an AI prospect to practise against.
Choose Saley if you want answers cited from your Playbook files
Live answers come from your own Playbook and files, with filename and page citations when retrieval finds them. Before the call there is a source-cited Prospect Brief; after it, a 0–100 review with written reasons and BANT, and follow-ups quoted from the call. That costs $69/month from the first call, with no trial.
Limits worth knowing
Price, hours, consent and devices
Price and hours. Saley plans include a set number of call hours: Starter is $69/month for 20 hours of calls, with no free tier and no trial. Hero lists $20 per seller per month after 28 free days and says live assistance is unlimited on every plan. On price alone, Hero costs less.
Recording consent. A bot in the participant list is how many people learn a call is being recorded. With bot-free capture, in Hero or in Saley, that signal is gone, so tell the people on the call. Saley asks you to confirm consent before recording (you can turn that prompt off) and shows a visible recording state. Recording laws vary, and you remain responsible for any participant consent required where the call takes place.
Supported platforms. Saley runs on macOS 13 (Ventura) or later only, and captures calls you can hear on that Mac: Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, softphones and browser calls. There is no Windows, iPhone, or Android app. Hero says you can start on your Mac or in the browser.
Screen sharing. Saley requests native macOS capture protection for its overlay and Live Assist windows. Share the meeting or presentation window rather than the entire display, and verify the behavior in your call app before presenting.
If a lower price, a free start, CRM writeback or an AI prospect to practise against decides it, choose Hero. If you sell on a Mac and want live coaching grounded in your own Playbook, a scored review and follow-ups quoted from the call, that is the job Saley is built for. Saley has no simulated buyer; to practise, run a roleplay with a colleague.

Comparison FAQ
Common questions about Saley and Hero
Is Saley a Hero alternative?
Yes, for a seller on a Mac. Both help during a live sales call without a bot. Hero costs less, starts free for 28 days and advertises CRM writeback. Saley answers from your own Playbook and files, then scores the call and lists follow-ups quoted from it.
Do Hero or Saley send a bot to the meeting?
Not to capture the call. Hero describes bot-less call transcription with its desktop app (its Enterprise plan also lists an avatar mode that joins the video as a visible teammate), and Saley captures your microphone and Mac system audio directly. Being bot-free is something the two share, not a difference between them.
What do Hero and Saley cost?
Hero lists its Individual plan at $20/month per seller, free for the first 28 days, with live assistance unlimited on every plan; its Team plan is coming soon. Saley has no free tier and no trial: Starter is $69/month for 20 hours of calls, and the card is charged at signup.
Do both draft follow-up emails?
Yes. Hero says it writes follow-up emails in your voice and updates your CRM. Saley drafts the email only from the call's follow-up list (promises quoted from the transcript, plus any you add), and you copy it into your own inbox. Saley never sends email.
If no bot joins, do I still need consent to record?
Yes. Bot-free capture means nobody sees a bot in the participant list, so telling people is on you. Saley asks you to confirm consent before recording (you can turn that prompt off) and shows a visible recording state, but recording laws vary and you remain responsible for any participant consent required where the call takes place.
