A consent gate first
No recording starts until you pass a consent prompt, and each session logs the acknowledgment. Consent laws vary by place — Saley makes the step explicit instead of hiding it.
A visible indicator
While a call is recording, you can see it. There’s no ambiguous state where you’re unsure whether the mic is hot.
Guards against runaways
A recording stops after prolonged silence, and any single session has a generous hard ceiling — a call left running by accident won’t quietly drain your month.

Saley captures desktop audio, so it isn’t plugged into any one platform. If you can hear the call on your Mac, Saley can record and transcribe it — there’s nothing to connect inside Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams, and no bot joins the meeting.
Capture runs on Apple’s ScreenCaptureKit, which sets the floor at macOS 13 (Ventura). On first run the app asks for two permissions — Microphone for your side, Screen Recording for the audio you hear — and that’s the whole setup.

Recordings are saved so you can play a call back, read the speaker-separated transcript, and re-score it later. You can delete a call and its audio when you’re done with it.
